Carla began studying traditional astrology in 2012 with the late Rod Suskin. She later continued advanced study in classical horary astrology. 

Alongside astrology, her broader inquiry has included contemplative philosophy, psychology, and direct experiential investigation into the nature of mind and human experience. 

These disciplines continue to inform her work as complementary ways of exploring the same enduring questions. 

Alongside her astrology practice, she writes on astrology, symbolism, and the deeper questions of human life.
